City of Yarra Carols 2025: Stage Banner at Burnley Park, Richmond

Yarra City Council SS Vinyl Mesh Banner 7400x3000

There’s something uniquely special about a local carols night — families spread across the grass, festive lights, live music, and the shared end-of-year feeling that brings a community together.

In December 2025, City of Yarra Carols returned to Burnley Park, Richmond, delivering a festive evening of performances, Christmas cheer, and community connection in front of the main stage.

Evan Evans was proud to support the event behind the scenes, producing the large-format stage banner that framed the performances and reinforced City of Yarra branding throughout the night.

A major community event at Burnley Park

Set against the open lawns of Burnley Park, the event welcomed families, friends, and locals to enjoy live music, festive performances, and classic carols in a relaxed outdoor setting.

From Santa moments to solo vocalists and full band performances, the main stage became the focal point of the night — and the backdrop needed to work visually from every angle, both in person and on camera.

Our role: stage banner production

For outdoor Council events, stage signage must balance presentation with practicality. For City of Yarra Carols 2025, we produced a large vinyl mesh stage banner designed specifically for open-air conditions and secure rigging.

The banner measured 7400mm (W) x 3000mm (H) and was finished with eyelets for safe, reliable installation across the stage structure.

Why vinyl mesh works for outdoor stages

Vinyl mesh is a popular choice for outdoor stage banners due to its ability to allow airflow while still delivering strong colour and clarity.
This helps reduce wind load behind the stage, making it a safer and more practical solution for large-format installations — particularly for community events held in open parkland.

The result was a clean, professional backdrop that complemented the performances and photographed well throughout the evening.

Fast turnaround for a fixed event date

With a hard event deadline and stage bump-in scheduled ahead of the performance, timing was critical.
Thanks to the coordination and turnaround driven by Dan Butler, the banner was produced and delivered in time for installation, ensuring everything was ready for the night.

Designed for reuse at future City of Yarra events

Rather than being a one-night-only asset, the stage banner was produced as a durable piece of event signage that City of Yarra can reuse for future community events.

This approach supports consistency across Council programming while delivering long-term value from a single, well-made piece of event branding.
