To maintain the vibrant appearance and quality of your flag, please follow these care guidelines:

1. Cleaning:

   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent and avoid any bleach or abrasive cleaning agents that could affect the fabric or print.
   • Machine Wash: If needed, use a delicate cycle with cold water. Placing the flag in a mesh laundry bag will help protect it from snagging.
   • Air Drying: Hang or lay the flag flat to dry naturally. Avoid using a dryer, as high temperatures can cause shrinkage or fading.

2. Storage:

   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool and dry place to prevent mould or moisture damage.

3. Folding the NAIDOC Flag:

   • Lay the flag flat, design side down.
   • Fold it in half vertically, aligning the edges.
   • Fold again vertically into a quarter width.
   • Roll the flag gently from the bottom up to avoid creasing the print.
   • Store in a clean, dry container or flag bag.

4. Handling:

   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from any sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that might cause damage.
   • Secure Installation: Attach the flag firmly when in use to prevent stress on stitching or fabric.
   • Minimise Exposure: Take the flag down during high winds, heavy rain, or overnight to prolong its condition.

5. Repairs:

   • Minor Repairs: For small damages, remove the flag from display and seek a professional seamstress for mending.
   • Replacement: When significant wear appears, it's best to replace the flag, especially ahead of formal events or commemorations.

Flying the NAIDOC Flag:

• Display the flag in a clean, respectful location where it can be clearly seen.
• Use the portrait orientation for maximum visual impact.
• Raise the flag during NAIDOC Week or other cultural events to show recognition and respect.
• Lower the flag in extreme weather or after hours to preserve its condition.

By caring for your flag properly, it will remain a bright and respectful symbol for years to come. Looking after it also reflects your appreciation for the significance it holds.
