For lasting quality and vibrant colours, please follow these care guidelines:

1. Cleaning:

   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent to preserve the flag’s colours. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals that may cause fading.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay flat or hang the flag to air dry. Do not tumble dry, as heat may shrink or damage the fabric.

2. Storage:

   • Proper Storage: Completely dry the flag before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from moisture to prevent mildew or damage.

3. Folding the ANZAC Flag:

   • Lay the flag flat on a clean surface.
   • Fold it in half lengthwise, ensuring the design remains visible.
   • Fold it again lengthwise, aligning the edges.
   • Starting at one end, fold the flag into a compact rectangle for neat storage or presentation.

4. Handling:

   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep away from rough surfaces or sharp objects that may cause tears.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is properly fastened when displayed to prevent strain or damage.
   • Minimise Exposure: Take the flag down during extreme weather conditions or overnight to extend its lifespan.

5. Repairs:

   • Minor Repairs: If small frays or tears appear, replace the flag and take the damaged one to a professional seamstress for repairs.
   • Replacement: When the flag shows significant wear, consider purchasing a new one to maintain a respectful and dignified display.

Flying the ANZAC Flag:

• Display the flag in a prominent location to honour the ANZAC spirit.
• Securely attach the flag to a flagpole or mounting system.
• If using multiple flags, ensure the ANZAC Day Flag is positioned appropriately according to flag etiquette.
• Lower the flag respectfully after the occasion to preserve its integrity.

By following these guidelines, your flag will maintain its vibrant colours and remain in excellent condition for years to come. Caring for your flag is not just about preservation, it is about honouring history and remembrance.
