To keep your flag looking bright and in great condition for years to come, please follow these care instructions:

1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Wash your flag with a mild detergent to help keep the colours bright. Stay away from bleach or harsh chemicals that may harm the fabric.
   • Machine Wash: If using a machine, choose a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag to protect it from catching or tearing.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it up to air dry naturally. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as high heat can shrink or damage the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before putting it away. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent any moisture damage.
3. Folding the Niger Flag:
   • Lay the flag out on a clean, flat surface with the front side facing up.
   • Bring the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, folding it lengthwise so the red bands remain aligned.
   • Smooth out any wrinkles to keep the folds crisp and tidy.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise a second time, lining up the edges neatly.
   • Starting at the fly end (the side furthest from the flagpole), fold the flag into equal rectangles or squares, working towards the hoist end.
   • Make sure each fold is firm and even, so the flag stays compact and protected when stored.
   • Place the neatly folded flag in a dry container or cloth bag to keep it clean until the next use.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag clear of sharp items or rough areas that could cause snags or tears.
   • Secure Installation: Make sure the flag is fastened well when displayed to prevent unnecessary stress on the fabric.
   • Minimise Exposure: Take the flag down during severe weather or overnight to help preserve its colour and fabric.
5. Repairs:

Flying the Peru Flag:

• Raising the Flag
  • When using a header with loops, attach the sister clips through the loops and fasten them securely to the halyard. If using a vertical sleeve, slide the pole carefully through the sleeve pocket and check that the flag hangs flat and straight.
  • Always raise the Peru flag briskly and smoothly to the top of the flagpole as a sign of honour and national pride.
  • Before hoisting, check that the rope and clips are untangled and secured properly to keep the flag steady while flying.
  • If flying multiple flags together, the Peru flag should go up first and be placed in the position of highest respect, often the tallest pole.
• Displaying the Flag
  • When displayed horizontally, the red stripes should be on the sides with the white in the middle.
