1. Cleaning:
   • Wash Gently: Use a mild detergent to clean the flag, as harsh chemicals and bleach can damage the fabric and fade the colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is required, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and use a gentle cycle with cold water to protect the stitching and material.
   • Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as high heat can cause the fabric to shrink or weaken.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Always ensure the flag is completely dry before storing it to avoid mould or mildew growth. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to preserve its colour and fabric.
3. Folding the Luxembourg Flag:
   • Begin by laying the flag flat with the front (the side to be displayed) facing down.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, aligning the red stripe with the blue stripe, ensuring both stripes are visible on the outside.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise again, bringing the red and white stripes together, ensuring the white stripe is on the inside.
   • Starting at the fly end (opposite the flagpole), fold the flag into a triangle. Fold one corner over the flag to form a triangular shape, then continue folding along the flag’s length.
   • As you fold, ensure each edge is aligned neatly and sharply for a tidy finish.
   • When you reach the end of the flag, tuck the remaining fabric securely into the last fold.
   • Store the folded flag in a dry, safe place to maintain its condition and appearance.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from rough surfaces or sharp objects to prevent damage or fraying.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is securely attached to its pole or display system, allowing it to fly freely without restriction.
   • Flag Exposure: To prolong the life of the flag, remove it during extreme weather conditions (wind, rain, or storms) and overnight to reduce unnecessary wear.
5. Repairs:
   • Minor Repairs: If you notice any damage such as fraying or tears, replace the flag temporarily and have the damaged one repaired professionally.
   • Replacement: Over time, the flag may begin to show signs of wear. When this happens, consider replacing it to ensure your display remains fresh and vibrant.

Flying the Luxembourg Flag:

• Raising the Flag:
  • Ensure the flag is firmly attached to the flagpole, with the red stripe positioned at the top.
  • Attaching with the Header and Loops: For flags with a header featuring loops, securely fasten the loops to the flagpole using the included sister clips to ensure a tight fit.
  • Attaching with the Vertical Sleeve: If your flag includes a vertical sleeve, slide it over the flagpole, making sure the flag is correctly aligned with the red stripe at the top.
  • Lift the flag swiftly to the top of the pole, allowing it to fly freely without touching the ground at any point.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • The Luxembourg flag should always be displayed with the red stripe at the top, followed by the white and blue stripes in that order.
  • Ensure the flag is hung straight, without any creases or wrinkles, allowing it to wave smoothly in the wind.
  • If displayed alongside other flags, the Luxembourg flag should be positioned at the same height or slightly above the others to maintain its prominence.
• Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
  • To fly the Luxembourg flag at half-mast, raise it to the top of the pole first, then lower it to the halfway point.
  • The flag should be flown at half-mast during periods of national mourning or remembrance.
  • Once the mourning period ends, raise the flag back to the top of the pole before taking it down for the night.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
