1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Wash: Use a mild detergent to clean the flag, preserving its colours and fabric. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is necessary, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and wash on a gentle cycle with cold water to prevent any damage.
   • Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it up to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer as high heat can cause shrinkage or material damage.
2. Storage:
   • Safe Storage: Ensure the flag is fully dry before storing to prevent mould or mildew. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to maintain its quality.
3. Folding the Myanmar Flag:
   • Start by placing the flag flat on a clean, smooth surface with the front facing up.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, making sure the top and bottom edges align perfectly.
   • Fold it lengthwise once more, with the red stripe on top, followed by the green and yellow stripes underneath.
   • Next, fold the flag in half widthwise, bringing the edges to the centre for a neat alignment.
   • Continue folding the flag into smaller sections, around 20-30cm each, keeping it compact and organised.
   • Once you’ve folded the flag completely, ensure it is neatly tucked with no fabric exposed, preserving its respect and dignity while stored.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Surfaces: Keep the flag away from sharp objects or abrasive surfaces to avoid tears and snags.

  • Lower the flag at sunset, ensuring it is down before the last light fades, and fold it carefully once it is lowered.
  • Always raise and lower the flag in accordance with proper flag etiquette at the beginning and end of each day.
• Weather Considerations:
  • While the Myanmar flag is built to last, avoid flying it during extreme weather, such as storms, high winds, or heavy rain, to protect the fabric from damage.
