Care Instructions

To help maintain the appearance and longevity of your Bolivia Flag, follow these care guidelines.

1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Washing: Wash with a mild detergent to help preserve the flag's colours. Avoid bleach and harsh cleaning chemicals.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is required, use a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag.
   • Air Drying: Hang or lay the flag flat to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may damage the fabric.
2. Storage
   • Store Dry: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storage. Keep it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and moisture.
3. Folding the Bolivia Flag
   • Hold the flag horizontally with the red stripe at the top and the green stripe at the bottom.
   • Fold the flag lengthwise in half, bringing the red stripe over the green stripe while keeping the yellow stripe visible.
   • Fold lengthwise once more, aligning the edges neatly.
   • Starting from the fly end, create small triangular folds towards the hoist side.
   • Continue folding until you reach the end, then tuck any remaining fabric neatly into the fold.
4. Handling
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from rough surfaces and sharp edges that may cause tears or snags.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is properly attached when displayed to reduce unnecessary stress on the fabric.
   • Reduce Excess Exposure: For best results, remove the flag during extreme weather conditions or when not in use for extended periods.
5. Repairs & Replacement
   • Minor Repairs: Small tears or frayed areas should be professionally repaired as soon as possible.
   • Replacement: When a flag becomes excessively worn or faded, consider replacing it to maintain a professional appearance.

Flying the Bolivia Flag

• Raising the Flag: Raise the flag briskly and ensure it is displayed correctly with the red stripe at the top.
• Displaying the Flag: Display the flag prominently and ensure it is free from obstructions.
• Flying at Half-Mast: Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position. Reverse the process before lowering it completely.
• Day and Night Display: Traditionally, flags are raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset. If displayed at night, appropriate illumination is recommended.
• Weather Conditions: Remove the flag during severe weather conditions to help extend its lifespan.
• Retirement: When the flag is no longer fit for display, retire it respectfully in accordance with local customs and practices.
