Care Instructions for Your Brazil Flag

To help maintain the appearance and longevity of your Brazil flag, follow these simple care guidelines.

1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Washing: Wash with a mild detergent to help preserve colour and fabric quality. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is required, use a gentle cycle with cold water. Placing the flag in a mesh laundry bag can help prevent snags.
   • Air Drying: Hang or lay flat to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may damage the fabric.
2. Storage
   • Store Dry: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing.
   • Cool, Dry Location: Store in a clean, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.
3. Folding the Brazil Flag
   • Lay the flag flat with the green field facing upward.
   • Fold the flag lengthwise, keeping the design protected on the inside.
   • Fold lengthwise again, aligning the edges neatly.
   • Starting from one end, fold into a triangular shape.
   • Continue folding until the flag is compact.
   • Tuck any remaining fabric neatly into the fold.
   • Check that the finished fold is secure and even.
4. Handling
   • Avoid Sharp Surfaces: Keep the flag away from rough edges or sharp objects that may cause tears or snags.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is properly attached to minimise unnecessary strain on the fabric.

  • Attach the flag securely using the appropriate clips, loops, or fittings.
  • Raise the flag smoothly and ensure it does not touch the ground.
• Displaying the Flag
  • Display the flag so the design is clearly visible and fully extended.
  • Position it in a prominent location where it can be viewed easily.
• Flying at Half-Mast
  • Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
  • Return it to the top of the pole before lowering it completely.
• Sunrise and Sunset
  • Traditionally, flags are raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset.
  • Handle the flag respectfully during raising and lowering.
