1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Always wash the flag with a mild detergent to minimise fading. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that could damage the colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to protect it from snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as high heat may cause shrinkage or damage to the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep the flag in a cool, dry, and safe place to prevent moisture damage.
3. Folding the Eureka Flag:
   • Start by laying the flag flat with the design facing down on a clean, flat surface.
   • Fold the flag lengthwise in half, bringing the two long edges together, ensuring the fabric remains smooth and even.
   • Fold the flag in half again lengthwise, keeping the design facing inward to protect it from any potential damage.
   • Continue folding the flag in a fan-like manner, folding it into thirds or quarters, depending on the desired size for storage.
   • Ensure that each fold is neat and crisp to avoid creases or damage to the fabric.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp objects or rough surfaces that may cause snags or tears.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is securely fastened when displayed to avoid unnecessary strain on the fabric.

  • If your Eureka Flag has a vertical sleeve, slide the sleeve over the flagpole, ensuring the flag is centred and hangs evenly. Secure the sleeve at the top of the pole to prevent any slipping or movement while raising the flag.
  • Slowly raise the flag, ensuring it is fully extended and not touching the ground. The flag should be raised briskly and without hesitation to demonstrate respect.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • The Eureka Flag should be displayed with the design facing outward and clearly visible to all.
  • Ensure the flag is flown in a prominent position, such as on a flagpole or at a public event, to honour its historical significance.

• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
