1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Always clean the flag with a mild detergent to reduce fading. Steer clear of bleach or harsh chemicals that may harm the colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as high temperatures can shrink or damage the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place to protect it from moisture damage.
3. Folding the Hungary Flag:
   • Lay the Flag Flat: Start by placing the flag face up on a clean, flat surface. Ensure the flag is smooth and free of wrinkles or creases.
   • Fold Lengthwise: Take the flag’s bottom edge and bring it up to meet the top edge, folding it in half lengthwise while keeping the red stripe at the top.
   • Align the Edges: Carefully align the edges of the flag to ensure a neat fold, making sure the colours remain visible on the outside.
   • Create a Triangular Fold: Starting from one end, take the bottom corner and fold it diagonally toward the top edge to form a triangle. The flag’s red stripe should be at the top of the triangle.
   • Continue Folding Triangles: Holding the triangle in place, take the bottom corner of the triangle and fold it up to meet the top edge. This will create a smaller triangle. Repeat this step, folding the next triangle up until the flag is completely folded.

• Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
  • To fly the flag at half-mast, raise it to the top of the pole first, then lower it down to the halfway point.
  • This action signifies mourning or remembrance. It is important to raise it back to the top after a period of time, following the established protocol for the occasion.
  • Always ensure the flag is raised fully again at the conclusion of the observance.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
  • The flag should be raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset. If the flag is illuminated, it may remain displayed overnight.
  • If the flag is being flown on a pole that does not have a light source, it should be taken down at dusk to maintain proper etiquette.
• Weather Conditions:
  • Avoid flying the flag during severe weather conditions, such as storms, heavy rain, or strong winds, as these can damage the flag.
  • If inclement weather is expected, take the flag down and store it safely to prevent tearing or fading.
• Retirement of the Flag:
