1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Always wash the flag using a mild detergent to prevent fading. Avoid bleach or any harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric or colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to prevent any damage or snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Tumble drying should be avoided, as high heat can shrink or weaken the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing it. Store the flag in a cool, dry, and safe place to prevent moisture damage or mildew.
3. Folding the Mongolia Flag:
   • Lay the flag flat: Begin by placing the flag on a clean, flat surface to avoid wrinkles or dirt.
   • Fold in half lengthwise: Gently fold the flag along its length, bringing the top edge to meet the bottom edge. Ensure the flag’s design is on the outside.
   • Fold again lengthwise: Fold the flag in half again lengthwise, ensuring both edges align neatly. This will reduce the size of the flag while keeping its design intact.

  • If using the Vertical Sleeve, slide the flag onto the flagpole through the sleeve, ensuring it is aligned properly with the top of the flagpole.
  • When raising the flag, it should be hoisted briskly to the top of the flagpole, ensuring the flag does not touch the ground.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • When displayed horizontally, the blue section of the flag should always be at the centre, with the red stripes at the sides.
  • When flown vertically, position the flag so that the red part with the Soyombo emblem is on the top, ensuring the flag is facing outward for all to see.
  • Make sure the flag is securely fastened to the flagpole to prevent any damage from wind or shifting.
• Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
  • To fly the Mongolia flag at half-mast, raise the flag to the top of the flagpole first, then lower it to the halfway point.
  • This position should be maintained as a sign of respect, mourning, or solemn occasion.
  • When lowering the flag after a period of half-mast, always raise it fully before taking it down.
