   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging or tearing.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it up to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as high heat can shrink or weaken the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing it to prevent moisture damage. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
3. Folding the Puerto Rico Flag:
   • Begin by holding the flag horizontally and ensuring it is fully extended and free of creases.
   • Fold the flag lengthwise once, bringing the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, ensuring the blue triangle and white star remain visible.
   • Fold it lengthwise again, keeping the edges aligned neatly and ensuring the white star stays centred in the blue triangle.
   • Starting at the striped end, fold the flag into a triangular shape by bringing the striped corner up to the opposite edge, forming the first triangle.
   • Continue folding in a triangular pattern, ensuring each fold is crisp and aligned, until you reach the blue triangle with the white star.
   • Tuck the remaining edge into the fold to secure the flag, leaving only the blue triangle and white star visible for a neat and respectful presentation.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp or abrasive surfaces to prevent snags or tears.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is firmly attached to prevent strain on the fabric.
   • Minimise Exposure: Take the flag down during harsh weather or overnight to preserve its condition.
