- Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may shrink or distort the material.
- Storage
- Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from moisture to help prevent mould or fabric damage.
- Folding the Romania Flag
- Lay the flag flat with the blue stripe on the left, yellow in the centre and red on the right.
- Fold the flag in half lengthwise, bringing the red stripe over the blue stripe.
- Fold lengthwise again to create a long, narrow strip.
- Fold neatly into thirds from one end.
- If required, make one final fold for compact storage.
- Store the folded flag in a protective bag or box to help keep it clean and dry.
- Handling
- Avoid contact with sharp or abrasive surfaces.

Flying the Romania Flag
- Raising the Flag
- Header with Loops: Secure the reinforced loops using suitable clips or hooks before raising the flag.
- Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve over a compatible flagpole and ensure it is positioned securely before raising.
- Allow the flag to fly freely without obstruction for the best presentation.
- Displaying the Flag
- When displayed horizontally, position the blue stripe on the left, yellow in the centre and red on the right.
- When displayed vertically, the blue stripe should appear at the top, followed by yellow and then red.
- Display the flag prominently and respectfully.
- Flying at Half-Mast
- Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
- Return the flag to full mast once the period of remembrance or mourning has concluded.
- Sunrise & Sunset
- Raise the flag at sunrise and lower it at sunset unless it is appropriately illuminated overnight.
- Weather Conditions
- Avoid flying the flag during severe weather, including heavy rain or strong winds, to help extend its lifespan.
- Retiring the Flag
- When the flag becomes worn beyond repair, retire it respectfully in accordance with local customs or guidance.
