Materials and Construction
135gsm Knitted Polyester Trilobal
The flag is produced from 135gsm knitted polyester Trilobal fabric. This lightweight printed material provides strong colour presentation and is suitable for everyday indoor and outdoor display.
Choosing a Finish
The Header with Loops finish is designed for attachment to a traditional flagpole or halyard. The Vertical Sleeve creates a streamlined presentation when displayed on a compatible pole up to 28mm in diameter.
Hemmed Edges
The flag edges are hemmed to help reduce fraying and provide a neat, finished appearance.

xProduct Care
To help maintain the appearance and performance of your Knitted Polyester Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Flag, follow these care recommendations.
- Cleaning
- Hand wash with a mild detergent whenever possible. Avoid bleach and harsh cleaning products.
- If machine washing is required, use a gentle cold-water cycle and place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag.
- Allow the flag to air dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying or high heat.
- Storage
- Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Folding the Flag
- Lay the flag flat with the red triangle positioned on the left.
- Fold the flag in half lengthwise, then fold lengthwise again, keeping the edges aligned.
- Fold from the bottom into even triangular folds until only the red triangle with the crescent and star remains visible.
- Secure the folded flag with a ribbon or tie for storage.
- Handling
- Avoid contact with sharp or abrasive surfaces.
- Ensure the flag is securely attached before display.
- Remove the flag during severe weather or overnight where practical to help extend its service life.
- Repairs
- Small tears or loose stitching should be repaired promptly by a qualified seamstress.
- Replace the flag once normal wear significantly affects its appearance.
Flying the Flag
- Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops securely to the flagpole hooks or halyard.
- Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve over a compatible flagpole and ensure the flag hangs freely.
- Raise and lower the flag carefully, avoiding contact with the ground.
- When displayed horizontally, position the red triangle on the left. When displayed vertically, position the red triangle at the top.
- If flying at half-mast, first raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the halfway position.
- For best presentation, raise the flag at the beginning of the day and lower it before nightfall unless it is suitably illuminated.
- Avoid displaying the flag during severe weather to help minimise unnecessary wear.
Following these care recommendations will help preserve the appearance of your Knitted Polyester Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Flag for regular indoor and outdoor display.
