1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent to clean the flag, avoiding bleach or harsh chemicals that could damage the fabric or fade the colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to protect it from snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as high heat can cause shrinkage or damage.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing it in a cool, dry location to prevent moisture damage and mildew.
3. Folding the Serbia Flag:
   • Lay the Flag Flat: Place the Serbia flag on a clean, flat surface with the red stripe at the top and the coat of arms facing upwards. Ensure the flag is free of wrinkles for a neat fold.
   • Fold Lengthwise Once: Carefully fold the flag lengthwise, bringing the bottom white stripe up to align with the top red stripe. Smooth out any creases as you fold.
   • Align the Coat of Arms: Ensure the coat of arms remains visible and upright, centred in the blue stripe after the first fold.
   • Fold Lengthwise Again: Fold the flag lengthwise a second time, aligning the edges neatly. The coat of arms should still be visible and prominently displayed.
   • Begin Horizontal Folds: Starting from the bottom edge, fold the flag upwards in even sections, ensuring the folds are straight and uniform.
   • Final Fold: Continue folding horizontally until the flag forms a compact rectangle with the coat of arms visible on top.
   • Secure and Store: Once folded, secure the flag gently with a ribbon or place it in a protective cover. Store it in a cool, dry location to maintain its condition.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp edges or rough surfaces that may cause tears or snags.

Flying the Serbia Flag:

• Raising the Flag
  • Raising with Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops to the halyard or flagpole and use the sister clips to secure the flag before raising it. Ensure the flag is centred and fully extended.
  • Raising with Vertical Sleeve: Slide the flag onto the pole through the side pocket (vertical sleeve) and secure it at the top to prevent the flag from slipping.
  • When raising the Serbia flag, do so briskly and with purpose, ensuring it reaches the top of the pole without delay. This demonstrates respect for the national symbol.
• Displaying the Flag
  • The Serbia flag should always be displayed with the red stripe on top, followed by the blue and white, with the coat of arms positioned on the left (hoist side).
  • When displayed with other flags, the Serbia flag must occupy the position of honour, typically on the far left from the observer's view or centre if multiple flags are flown at the same height.
  • Indoors, the flag should be positioned on the right side of the speaker or stage, symbolising prominence and respect.
• Flying the Flag Half-Mast
  • To fly the flag at half-mast, first raise it to the top of the pole briefly, then lower it to a position approximately halfway down the pole.
  • Ensure the flag is not so low that it obstructs visibility or touches the ground.
  • When lowering the flag at the end of the day, raise it to the top of the pole before fully bringing it down.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset
  • The Serbia flag should only be flown from sunrise to sunset unless it is properly illuminated during the night.
  • If flown at night, ensure bright, focused lighting enhances its visibility without casting shadows or obscuring its design.
• Weather Conditions
  • Avoid flying the flag during severe weather, such as strong winds, heavy rain, or storms, to prevent damage to the fabric.
