Flag Care Guidelines

Follow these care guidelines to help preserve the flag’s colours and condition.

Cleaning

• Gentle washing: Wash with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric or colours.
• Machine washing: If required, use a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag.
• Air drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying or exposing it to high heat.

Storage

• Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing it.
• Store it in a cool, dry place away from moisture.
• Avoid placing heavy objects on the flag, as this may create permanent creases.

Folding the Syria Flag

1. Lay the flag flat on a clean surface and smooth out any wrinkles.
2. Fold it in half lengthwise, bringing the long edges together with the colours facing outward.
3. Fold it lengthwise again to create a narrower strip.
4. Fold the strip neatly into thirds or an accordion-style shape.

Flying the Syria Flag

Raising the Flag

• Securely attach the flag using the supplied Header with Loops or Vertical Sleeve finish.
• Raise the flag carefully and prevent it from touching the ground.
• Make sure the fabric is free from folds and can move without obstruction.

Displaying the Flag

• Position the flag so its design is clearly visible and correctly oriented.
• When displaying it with other flags, follow any applicable local or organisational protocols.
• Check that the green, white and black bands and red stars are displayed correctly.

Half-Mast Display

• Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
• Before taking it down, raise it to the top again and then lower it fully.
