Choose Header with Loops for attachment using reinforced loops and sister clips. Choose Vertical Sleeve for a neat presentation-style display on poles up to 28mm in diameter.
Hemmed Edges

Follow these care guidelines to help preserve the flag’s appearance and colours.

Cleaning
- Gentle Washing: Wash the flag using a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, as these may damage the colours.
- Machine Washing: If machine washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag to help prevent snagging.
- Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may shrink or damage the fabric.

Storage
- Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing it in a cool, dry and secure place.

Folding the Uganda Flag
- Lay the flag flat on a clean, smooth surface with the emblem facing upward.
- Fold the flag lengthwise in half, bringing the right side over the left and aligning the edges.
- Fold it in half lengthwise again, keeping the emblem inside.
- Starting from the bottom corner, fold the flag diagonally into a triangle.
- Continue folding it into neat triangles until you reach the top edge.
- Tuck in the remaining edge to secure the compact triangular fold.

- Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp objects and rough surfaces that may cause snags or tears.
- Secure Installation: Make sure the flag is securely attached to avoid unnecessary strain on the fabric.
- Minimise Exposure: Bring the flag indoors during extreme weather or overnight to help preserve its condition.

Flying the Uganda Flag

Raising the Flag
- Make sure the flagpole is securely mounted and the surrounding area is clear.
- Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops to the halyard or flag clips and position the flag evenly.
- Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve over the flagpole and make sure it fits securely.
- Raise the flag smoothly and make sure it does not touch the ground.

Displaying the Flag
- When flown from a flagpole, make sure the Uganda flag can move freely without tangling.
- For horizontal or wall display, position the flag upright with the emblem clearly visible to the viewer.

Flying the Flag at Half-Mast
- Raise the flag briefly to the top of the pole before lowering it to the halfway position.
- Keep it at half-mast only for the appropriate mourning or remembrance period.
- Raise it to the top again before lowering it completely.

Sunrise and Sunset
- When flown during the day, raise the flag at sunrise and lower it at sunset.
- If displayed at night, illuminate it properly. Otherwise, bring it down after sunset.

Weather Conditions
- Avoid flying the flag during heavy rain, storms, strong winds or other extreme weather.
- Lower the flag or bring it indoors during gusty conditions to help prevent tearing and fraying.

Retiring the Flag
- When the flag becomes heavily worn, tattered or frayed, retire it respectfully rather than placing it in ordinary waste.
- Consult local guidance, a community organisation or an appropriate government body when unsure about respectful disposal.
