- Cleaning
- Gentle Washing: Wash with a mild detergent to help preserve the flag's colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
- Machine Washing: If machine washing, use a delicate cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to help prevent snagging.
- Air Drying: Hang or lay the flag flat to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry, as excessive heat may damage or shrink the fabric.
- Storage
- Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to help prevent mould and fading.
- Folding the United Kingdom Flag
- Ensure the flag is clean and completely dry before folding.
- Lay the flag flat on a clean surface with the Union Jack facing upward.
- Fold the flag lengthwise in half, aligning the edges carefully.
- Fold it lengthwise again, keeping the edges straight.
- Starting from the fly end (opposite the hoist), fold the flag into neat rectangular or accordion-style sections until you reach the hoist.

Flying the United Kingdom Flag
- Raising the Flag
- Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops to the halyard using the supplied sister clips.
- Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve over the pole, ensuring it is correctly aligned before raising the flag.
- Raise the flag smoothly to the top of the pole without allowing it to touch the ground.
- Ensure the flag is fully extended and free from excessive folds.
- Displaying the Flag
- Display the Union Jack in its correct orientation.
- When flown with other flags, position it in the place of honour (typically to the left when viewed from the front).
- For indoor displays, position the flag to the observer's left with the upper corner nearest the pole or wall.
- Flying at Half-Mast
