Header with Loops vs. Vertical Sleeve

To help maintain the flag's vibrant colours and overall condition, please follow these care instructions:

1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Washing: Wash the flag with a mild detergent to help prevent fading. Avoid bleach or strong chemicals that may damage the colours.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to help protect it from snags.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry, as excessive heat may cause shrinkage or fabric damage.
2. Storage
   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing it. Keep it in a cool, dry location away from humidity and moisture.
3. Folding the Yemen Flag
   • Lay the flag flat on a clean, smooth surface and make sure it is free from wrinkles or dirt.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, aligning the edges neatly with the colours facing inward.
   • Fold it in half again lengthwise, keeping the folds even and neat.
   • Begin folding from the hoist side towards the fly end, creating uniform folds.
   • Continue folding in thirds or quarters until the flag is neatly compacted.

Flying the Yemen Flag

• Raising the Flag
  • Header with Loops: Attach the loops to the flagpole and secure them with sister clips.
  • Vertical Sleeve: Slide the flag's sleeve over the flagpole and position it correctly.
  • Raise the Yemen flag briskly and smoothly to the top of the flagpole.
  • Make sure the flag is fully unfurled and positioned with the red stripe on top, followed by white and black when viewed from the front.
  • Avoid allowing the flag to touch the ground during raising or lowering.
• Displaying the Flag
  • When displayed alongside other flags, keep the Yemen flag appropriately positioned and presented with respect.
  • Indoors, the flag may be mounted on a pole, displayed flat, or presented in a way that respects its proportions and colours.
