1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent to clean the flag, as harsh chemicals and bleach can damage the fabric and colour.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag, set the machine to a gentle cycle, and wash in cold water to prevent damage.
   • Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it up to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as excessive heat can cause shrinkage or damage to the material.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is thoroughly dry before storing it to avoid mould or mildew. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and damp environments.
3. Folding the Morocco Flag:
   • Lay the flag flat on a clean, smooth surface, with the design facing upwards.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, aligning the edges so that the sides meet, creating a long, narrow strip.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise again, making sure the fold is crisp and the edges remain aligned.
   • Start folding the flag into a triangle by bringing one corner over to the opposite edge, creating a neat triangular fold. Continue folding the flag in a triangular shape until it is fully compacted.
   • Once folded, check that the flag is securely packed, with the design visible if needed. Store the flag in a cool, dry place to preserve its condition.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp edges or rough surfaces to prevent any snags or tears.
   • Secure Display: Ensure the flag is securely attached to its pole and can move freely in the wind without restrictions.

• Raising the Flag
  • Ensure the flagpole is sturdy and free from any obstructions before raising the flag.
  • Using the Header with Loops: If your flag has reinforced loops, attach them to the halyard and raise the flag by pulling the rope upward. Make sure the flag is positioned evenly along the pole to prevent it from swinging.
  • Using the Vertical Sleeve: For flags with a vertical sleeve, simply slide the sleeve onto the flagpole, ensuring the flag is aligned properly before raising it.
  • Lift the flag briskly to the top of the pole, ensuring it does not touch the ground during the process.
• Displaying the Flag
  • When flown on a flagpole, the Morocco flag should have the green pentagram facing outward, visible to all.
  • The flag should be displayed at the top of the flagpole unless multiple flags are flown, in which case the Morocco flag should be positioned highest, in accordance with flag protocol.
  • If displayed indoors or on a wall, ensure the flag’s design is upright with the green pentagram centred and facing the audience.
• Flying the Flag at Half-Mast
  • To fly the flag at half-mast, raise it fully to the top of the pole, then lower it halfway down.
  • Keep the flag at half-mast for the appropriate time, according to mourning periods or local customs.
  • When lowering the flag, raise it briefly back to the top before fully bringing it down.
• Flag Etiquette at Sunrise and Sunset
  • The flag should be raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset. If flown at night, ensure it is well-lit for visibility.
  • Raise the flag promptly after sunrise, and lower it slowly and respectfully at sunset.
• Weather Considerations
  • The Morocco flag should not be flown during severe weather conditions like high winds, storms, or heavy rain, to avoid fabric damage.
  • In extreme weather, remove the flag or secure it indoors until conditions improve.
  • If designed for outdoor use, ensure the flag is made of weather-resistant materials to endure minor adverse conditions.
• Retirement of the Flag
  • When the flag becomes worn, faded, or irreparably damaged, it should be retired respectfully.
