To help maintain the appearance and lifespan of your Fully Sewn Rwanda Flag, follow these care guidelines:

1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent to help preserve the fabric and colours. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is necessary, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and use a gentle cold-water cycle.
   • Drying: Air dry by laying the flag flat or hanging it. Avoid tumble dryers and excessive heat.
2. Storage
   • Store Dry: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storage. Keep it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
3. Folding the Flag
   • Lay the flag flat on a clean surface with the design facing upward.
   • Fold lengthwise, aligning the top and bottom edges.
   • Fold again from side to side.
   • Continue folding into smaller sections while keeping the edges aligned.
   • Smooth the fabric during folding to minimise creasing.
   • Finish with a compact rectangular fold for easy storage.
4. Handling
   • Avoid Damage: Keep the flag away from sharp objects and rough surfaces.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is correctly attached and able to move freely.
   • Extreme Conditions: Remove the flag during severe weather and when not required for extended periods.
5. Repairs & Replacement
   • Minor Repairs: Address small tears or fraying promptly through professional repair where possible.
   • Replacement: Replace the flag when wear and tear can no longer be effectively repaired.

• Raising the Flag
  • Attach the flag securely using the appropriate finish option.
  • Raise the flag carefully and ensure it does not touch the ground.

  • Raise the flag fully before lowering it to the halfway position.
  • This practice is commonly observed during periods of mourning or remembrance.
• Daily Flag Etiquette
  • Raise the flag in the morning and lower it at the end of the day where appropriate.
  • Take care when raising and lowering the flag to avoid contact with the ground.
• Weather Considerations
  • Remove the flag during strong winds, storms or severe weather conditions.
  • Inspect regularly for signs of wear if displayed outdoors.
