1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Cleaning: Use a mild detergent to help preserve the fabric and colours. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is required, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and wash on a gentle cycle using cold water.
   • Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may damage the fabric.
2. Storage

3. Folding the Somalia Flag
   • Place the flag on a clean, flat surface with the blue field and white star facing upwards.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, aligning the edges carefully.
   • Fold it lengthwise again to create a narrow strip.
   • Starting from the hoist side, fold the flag into a triangle by bringing the bottom corner to the top edge.
   • Continue making triangular folds toward the fly end, keeping each fold neat and aligned.
   • Tuck any remaining fabric into the final fold to secure it.
   • Store the folded flag in a protective cover or flat storage area to help maintain its shape.
4. Handling

Flying the Somalia Flag

• Raising the Flag
  • Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops to the halyard (rope) and secure them using the supplied sister clips.
  • Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve onto a suitable flagpole and ensure the flag is secured correctly before display.
  • Raise the flag smoothly and ensure it is fully extended without tangles.
• Displaying the Flag
  • Display the Somalia flag with the blue field and white star correctly oriented.
  • When flown with other flags, position it at the same height or in the place of honour where appropriate.
  • When displayed horizontally or on a wall, ensure the flag remains correctly orientated.
• Flying at Half-Mast
  • Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
  • When lowering the flag, return it briefly to the top before bringing it down completely.
