1. Cleaning
   • Gentle Washing: Use mild detergent and lukewarm water to help preserve the fabric and colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
   • Machine Wash: If required, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and use a cold, gentle cycle.
   • Drying: Air dry flat or hang in a shaded area. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may weaken the fabric or cause shrinkage.
2. Storage
   • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to help prevent mould, mildew and colour fading.
3. Folding the Thailand Flag
   • Prepare the Flag: Lay the flag flat on a clean surface with the blue stripe centred between the white and red stripes.
   • First Lengthwise Fold: Fold the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, keeping the stripes aligned.
   • Second Lengthwise Fold: Repeat the fold lengthwise to create a long, narrow strip.

4. Handling

Flying the Thailand Flag

• Raising the Flag
  • Header with Loops: Secure the loops to the halyard using sister clips and raise the flag evenly.
  • Vertical Sleeve: Carefully slide the pole through the sleeve and secure it before display.
  • Raise the flag respectfully and avoid allowing it to touch the ground.
  • According to Thai tradition, the flag is commonly raised at 8:00 AM.
  • For ceremonial displays, unfurl the flag smoothly to prevent tangling.
• Displaying the Flag
  • The blue stripe should remain centred between the white and red stripes.
  • When displayed vertically, the blue stripe should remain in the centre from top to bottom.
  • When displayed with other flags, the Thailand flag should be given an appropriate position of honour.
• Flying at Half-Mast
  • Lower the flag to half-mast during periods of mourning or remembrance.
  • Raise the flag to the top of the pole first before lowering it to the half-mast position.
  • When lowering for the day, raise it to full mast before bringing it down completely.
