1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Use mild detergent to clean the flag and preserve its colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that may cause fading.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat can shrink or weaken the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Dry the flag completely before storing it. Keep it in a cool, dry location away from moisture to prevent mould or mildew.
3. Folding the Thailand Flag:
   • Lay It Flat: Place the flag on a clean, flat surface with the blue stripe positioned in the centre, flanked by the white and red stripes.
   • Fold Lengthwise Once: Bring the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, ensuring the stripes remain aligned. The blue stripe should still be in the centre.
   • Fold Lengthwise Again: Repeat the previous step, folding the flag lengthwise once more to create a long, narrow shape with the blue stripe remaining visible in the middle.
   • Fold into Sections: Begin folding the flag from one end, making even rectangular folds until the entire flag is compact. This method keeps the flag neat and reduces creasing.
   • Store Respectfully: Once folded, place the flag in a clean, dry storage area. If the flag is being stored for a long period, ensure it remains free from moisture and dust to prevent damage.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp edges or rough surfaces that could cause snags or tears.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is firmly attached when displayed to prevent excessive strain on the fabric.

  • Vertical Sleeve: Slide the flagpole through the sleeve carefully, ensuring it remains smooth and aligned before securing it in place.
  • The Thai flag should be hoisted briskly and lowered slowly as a mark of respect.
  • When raising the flag, ensure it is fully unfurled and does not touch the ground.
  • On government buildings, schools, and public offices, the flag should be raised at 8:00 AM and lowered at 6:00 PM, following national protocol.
  • During formal ceremonies, it is customary for attendees to stand at attention while the flag is raised.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • The Thailand flag should always be displayed with the blue stripe in the centre, flanked by white and red stripes.
  • When hung vertically, the blue stripe must remain in the middle, running from top to bottom.
  • If displayed alongside other flags, the Thailand flag should always take the place of honour—either at the highest point or positioned to the left when viewed from the front.
• Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
  • The flag is flown at half-mast during national mourning periods or as a sign of respect for deceased leaders and significant figures.
  • To position it at half-mast, first raise it fully to the top, then slowly lower it to a position one-third down the flagpole.
  • When lowering the flag at the end of the day, it should first be raised to the top before being brought down completely.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
  • The flag should be raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset, as per traditional practice.
  • If flown at night, it must be well-lit to remain visible and properly honoured.
  • When lowering the flag, it should be done slowly and respectfully, ensuring it does not touch the ground.
• Weather Conditions:
  • The Thailand flag should not be flown in severe weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, to prevent damage.
  • If left outside for extended periods, ensure it is made of durable, weather-resistant fabric to maintain its vibrant colours.
• Retirement of the Flag:
