1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent to clean your flag while preserving its colours and fabric integrity. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
   • Machine Washing: If machine washing is required, place the flag in a mesh laundry bag and select a gentle cycle with cold water to prevent damage.
   • Drying: Lay flat or hang the flag to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may cause shrinkage or fabric deterioration.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is fully dry before storing to prevent mould or mildew. Keep it in a cool, dry space, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
3. Folding the Togo Flag:
   • Prepare the Flag: Lay it flat on a clean, dry surface with the green stripe on top and the red square with the white star positioned in the upper left corner.
   • First Fold: Bring the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, folding the flag in half lengthwise. The red square and white star should remain visible.
   • Second Fold: Repeat the lengthwise fold, keeping the edges aligned while ensuring the red square stays on top.
   • Triangular Folding: Starting from the bottom right corner, fold diagonally toward the top edge to create a triangle. Continue folding in this pattern, making each fold precise and even.
   • Final Step & Storage: Once fully folded into a compact triangle, the white star should be visible on the outermost layer. Store the flag in a cool, dry location, away from moisture and sunlight, to maintain its vibrant colours and fabric integrity.
4. Handling:
   • Protect from Damage: Keep the flag away from sharp objects and abrasive surfaces to avoid snags or tears.
   • Securely Display: Fasten the flag properly so it can move freely without excessive strain.
   • Weather Considerations: To extend its lifespan, take the flag down during extreme weather conditions or overnight to minimise wear.
5. Repairs:
   • Minor Repairs: If fraying occurs, swap the flag with a spare and have any damage repaired by a professional.
   • Replacement: When the flag becomes too worn, invest in a new one to maintain a bold and dignified display.

Flying the Togo Flag:

• Raising the Flag:
  • Ensure the flag is fully unfolded and free of tangles before raising it.
