1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Wash the flag using a mild detergent to help maintain its colour. Refrain from using bleach or other strong chemicals that can damage the fabric.
   • Machine Wash: If washing in a machine, use cold water on a gentle setting. Placing the flag inside a mesh laundry bag can offer added protection during the cycle.
   • Air Drying: Allow the flag to dry naturally by laying it flat or hanging it. Avoid dryers, as high heat may cause shrinkage or affect fabric integrity.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Only store the flag once it's completely dry. Choose a cool, clean, and dry environment away from direct heat or humidity to help keep it in good shape.
3. Folding the Zambia Flag:
   • Lay the flag flat on a clean surface with the emblem and tricolour visible.
   • Fold it lengthwise, bringing the top edge to meet the bottom, making sure the eagle remains visible.
   • Smooth out any creases during each fold to maintain a neat appearance.
   • Fold it lengthwise again, creating a long, narrow strip with the green field facing outward.
   • From the fly end, fold the flag into evenly sized rectangles toward the hoist end.
   • Once compact, store it in a dry cloth bag or protective container to guard against dust or moisture.
4. Handling:
   • Avoiding Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from rough or pointed surfaces that may snag or tear the fabric.

Flying the Zambia Flag:

• Raising the Flag:
  • If the flag has a header with loops, attach it to the pole using sister clips or similar fittings to hold it firmly in place.
  • With a vertical sleeve finish, gently slide the flag over the pole until fully displayed. This gives a continuous and polished appearance.
  • Raise the Zambia flag quickly to the top of the pole to reflect national pride and formality.
  • When flown alongside other flags, hoist the Zambia flag first and give it the most prominent position—usually the highest point or the central spot.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • The eagle and vertical stripes should be correctly visible from the front view.
  • When hanging the flag vertically, place the eagle emblem at the bottom to maintain the proper orientation.
  • The flag should never rest on the ground, touch water, or drag against any surface below it.
