For lasting colour and performance, please follow these Bahrain Flag care guidelines:

1. Cleaning
   • Wash Gently: Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that may cause fading.
   • Machine Wash: If required, use a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag in a mesh laundry bag.
   • Drying: Air dry by hanging or laying the flag flat. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may damage the fabric.
2. Storage
   • Store Correctly: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
3. Folding the Bahrain Flag
   • Lay the flag flat with the red field positioned on the left.
   • Fold lengthwise, aligning the long edges.
   • Fold lengthwise again to create a narrow strip.
   • Fold into a triangle from one end, keeping folds even and smooth.
   • Continue folding until the entire flag is compact and neatly secured.
   • Ensure the red field remains visible on the outer fold.
4. Handling
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from rough surfaces and sharp edges that may cause tears or snags.
   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is properly attached and free from obstructions.
   • Reduce Weather Exposure: Remove the flag during extreme weather conditions and when not in use for extended periods.
5. Repairs & Replacement
   • Minor Repairs: Address small tears or fraying promptly to help extend the flag's lifespan.
   • Replacement: When the flag shows significant wear, replace it to maintain a professional appearance.

Flying the Bahrain Flag

• Raising the Flag
  • Attach the flag securely using the appropriate fittings.
  • Ensure the flag is free from folds and creases before hoisting.
  • Raise the flag smoothly until it is fully visible and unfurled.
• Displaying the Flag
  • Display the flag with the white band positioned on the left when viewed from the front.
  • Ensure the flag remains clearly visible and unobstructed.
  • Keep the flag taut so it can be easily recognised.
• Flying at Half-Mast
  • Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
  • Ensure the flag remains secure and does not touch the ground.
  • Return the flag to full mast before lowering it at the end of the observance period.
• Sunrise & Sunset Etiquette
  • Traditionally, flags are raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset.
  • Handle the flag respectfully and avoid ground contact.
  • If displayed overnight, ensure appropriate illumination is provided.
• Weather Conditions
  • Avoid displaying the flag during severe weather conditions where possible.
  • Remove and store the flag safely if storms or strong winds are expected.
  • Inspect the flag regularly for signs of wear after exposure to adverse weather.
• Flag Retirement
  • Retire flags that are excessively worn or damaged.
  • Replace with a new flag to maintain a respectful presentation.
  • Follow local customs and guidelines when disposing of retired flags.

Proper care and handling will help preserve the appearance and longevity of your Bahrain Flag, ensuring it remains suitable for future displays and events.
