Follow these care guidelines to help maintain the appearance and lifespan of your Knitted Polyester Malta Flag.

- Folding the Flag
- Lay the flag flat on a clean surface.
- Fold it in half lengthwise with the design facing outward.
- Fold it in half widthwise, keeping the George Cross visible.
- Continue folding into even thirds until neatly compact.
- Store the folded flag in a clean, dry location.
- Handling
- Avoid contact with sharp objects and rough surfaces.
- Ensure the flag is securely installed before display.
- For longer product life, bring the flag indoors during extreme weather or when not in use for extended periods.
- Repairs & Replacement
- Small tears or loose stitching should be repaired promptly by a professional if practical.
- Replace the flag when wear becomes significant to maintain a professional appearance.
Flying the Malta Flag
- Raising the Flag
- Header with Loops: Secure the reinforced loops using the supplied sister clips before raising the flag.
- Vertical Sleeve: Slide the sleeve over a suitable flagpole, ensuring the fabric sits smoothly.
- Raise the flag fully so it can fly freely and avoid allowing it to touch the ground.
- Displaying the Flag
- When displayed horizontally, the George Cross should appear in the upper left corner.
- When displayed vertically, the George Cross should appear on the right-hand side.
- If displayed with other flags, position the Malta flag in the place of honour according to standard flag etiquette.
- Always display the flag respectfully and avoid prolonged exposure to severe weather.
- Flying at Half-Mast
- Raise the flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the half-mast position.
- When lowering the flag, return it to the top before bringing it down completely.
- Day & Night Display
- Traditionally, the flag is raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset.
- If displayed after dark, ensure it is properly illuminated.
- Weather Conditions
- Bring the flag indoors during storms, strong winds or prolonged heavy rain.
- If the flag becomes wet, allow it to dry completely before storing.
- Retiring the Flag
- When the flag reaches the end of its service life, retire it respectfully using an appropriate method in accordance with local customs.
