This knitted polyester flag is produced from 135gsm Trilobal fabric. The lightweight material provides vibrant colour and is suitable for practical indoor and outdoor flag display.
Header with Loops vs. Vertical Sleeve
The Header with Loops option uses sturdy loops and sister clips for secure attachment. The Vertical Sleeve provides a smooth presentation-style finish by sliding over poles up to 28mm in diameter. Custom sleeve requirements can be discussed with our team.
Hemmed Edges

- Cleaning
- Gentle Washing: Wash your flag with a mild detergent to help maintain its colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric.
- Machine Wash: If machine washing, use a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to help protect it from catching or tearing.
- Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying, as high heat may shrink or damage the fabric.
- Storage
- Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing it. Keep it in a cool, dry place to help prevent moisture damage.
- Folding the Peru Flag
- Lay the flag on a clean, flat surface with the front side facing up.
- Bring the bottom edge up to meet the top edge, folding the flag lengthwise and keeping the red bands aligned.
- Smooth out any wrinkles to keep the folds neat and tidy.
- Fold the flag in half lengthwise again, carefully aligning the edges.
- Starting at the fly end, fold the flag into equal rectangles or squares, working towards the hoist end.
- Keep each fold firm and even so the flag remains compact and protected during storage.
- Place the folded flag in a dry container or cloth bag until its next use.
- Handling
- Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from sharp objects or rough surfaces that may cause snags or tears.
- Secure Installation: Make sure the flag is securely fastened when displayed to help prevent unnecessary stress on the fabric.
- Minimise Exposure: Take the flag down during severe weather or overnight to help preserve its colour and fabric.
- Repairs
- Minor Repairs: If the flag develops small tears or begins to fray, consider professional repair where possible.
- Replacement: If the flag becomes excessively worn, replace it to maintain a neat and respectful display.
Flying the Peru Flag
- Raising the Flag
- For a Header with Loops finish, attach the sister clips through the loops and fasten them securely to the halyard. For a Vertical Sleeve, carefully slide the pole through the sleeve pocket and check that the flag hangs flat and straight.
- Raise the Peru flag briskly and smoothly to the top of the flagpole.
- Before hoisting, check that the rope and clips are untangled and securely positioned.
- When flying multiple flags, position the Peru flag appropriately according to the display setting and applicable flag protocol.
- Displaying the Flag
- When displayed horizontally, the red stripes should appear on the sides with the white stripe in the centre.
- If the flag includes the national coat of arms, position it so the design is clearly visible.
- Flying the Flag at Half-Mast
- During recognised periods of mourning, raise the Peru flag to the top of the pole before lowering it to the appropriate half-mast position.
- Before lowering the flag completely, raise it to the peak momentarily and then lower it respectfully.
- Sunrise, Sunset and Night Display
- Where applicable, raise the flag at sunrise and lower it respectfully at sunset.
- For night display, ensure the flag is appropriately illuminated.
- Weather Conditions
- Avoid flying the flag during heavy rain, storms or strong winds, as harsh conditions may place additional stress on the fabric.
- Taking the flag down during severe weather can help maintain its condition.
- Allow the flag to dry completely before storing it after wet weather.
- Retirement of the Flag
- When the Peru flag becomes excessively worn, faded or torn, retire it from display respectfully.
- Consider appropriate local or community guidance when disposing of a retired national flag.
- Replace a flag that is no longer suitable for a neat and respectful display.
