1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Always use a mild detergent to wash the flag to help preserve its vibrant colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that could cause fading or fabric damage.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to prevent any damage or snagging.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it up to air dry. Avoid tumble drying, as the heat may shrink or harm the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place to avoid moisture and mould damage.
3. Folding the Portugal Flag:
   • Start by laying the flag flat on a clean surface, ensuring it is free from dirt or debris.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, bringing the bottom edge up to align with the top edge.
   • Next, fold the flag in half again lengthwise, ensuring the edges are aligned neatly.
   • Begin folding the flag into smaller, triangular sections, starting from the hoist side (the side nearest the flagpole).
   • Continue folding each triangle over the previous one, keeping the folds tight and even.
   • Once you reach the end of the flag, tuck the final section neatly into the last fold to secure it in place.
4. Handling:
